Sefton, UK
A59 Northway
Sefton MBC was looking to significantly reduce the energy consumption of their scheme whilst providing good quality LED lighting.
This section of A59 Northway was previously lit with 250w high pressure sodium luminaires on a part night switch regime, with every alternate column being switched off between 8pm and 6am with the exception of conflict areas which remained fully illuminated. The total previous energy consumption under the part night regime cost approximately £11,807.00 per annum for the 122 lanterns.
The new P862 LED system operates a dimming regime which consumes a total of approx. £5,064.00 per annum. This equates to approximately 57% energy saving alone.
In addition to the energy savings Sefton MBC now benefit from reduced maintenance activity and a much improved lighting scheme, by changing to the dimming regime.
